I haven't decided one way or the other who I will vote for{probably not Democrat} but what I find truly amazing is this pre occupation with actors, . These are generally, not always people who for what ever reason can't live their lives in a normal manner, but have to live in a world of make believe, and yet some think that makes them experts on most any issue that comes up when actually, without a script they can't make their next move.

actually, whether someone was an actor in their previous career is irrelevant. Ronald Reagan for instance, was an actor in a previous career and most people now view his presidency as decisive in successfully ending the cold war. Experience in government is also useful as it provides a metric into the candidates relative competence.
At the end of the day, probably the most important criteria is the candidate's vision of the future, and ability to articulate a plan for getting there. (assuming of course, you agree with their vision...)

Americans will be dumb enough to vote for any politician who spends enough money and sounds or looks good. If H. Ross Perot would have projected a better presence on television, and would have been a mite more handsome, he would have won in 1992. -RKO- 06/10/07

We Americans who were smart enough to vote for Reagan are very pleased with our vote, and I plan on voting for Fred Thompson should he get the nomination. Dumb Americans are ones who vote for people who lie to the American people to get elected. Here are some examples, Carter, Johnson, and of course slick willy.

At least Ronald Reagan served two terms as Governor before he ran for the Presidency. He had political experience. I don't consider someone acting on Law and Order a viable candidate for a country that desperately needs REAL leadership.

The US has an ethos of violence from it's revolutionary war through to it's civil war to it's gun culture which sees murders and violent crimes up to ten fold more in the US then other developed western democracies.
Many Americans no longer live in the real world but in a TV REALITY with all it's dire consequences.
Americans believe in and make crucial decisions based upon sheer myths .The lonely gun slinger of western movie mythology fighting injustice and wrong and always righting these injustices through violence WITH A GUN .
This is in fact how America deals with threats.
While war and all of it's atrocities are viewed as an abomination by most,America through it's chief cowboy Bush decided to name the war atrocity in Iraq "SHOCK AND AWE" like it was some Cecil B.DeMile epic hollywood production in which real people did not die or were killed or were raped etc.
Christ/God must be very proud of Americans for turning crimes against humanity into a Hollywood epic.
All of this to say ,that Americans love what they think are strong willed persons especially if they like President Regan embody the American myths.
Americans often go for their guns before even trying negotiations for it is percieved as the macho thing to do.
Rudolf Guliano's appeal is in the traditional mode of a war monger who is percieved as a protector when in fact his ideology like that of the war mongering Bush has made the US and America a hell of a lot less safe .
Thompson the actor embodies all these ludicrous myths and like with Regan he has mass appeal.
The greatest thing I love about democracy is that WE GET EXACTLY WHAT WE DESERVE TO GET AS a consequences of our stupidity .We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

It doesn't matter who you vote for, things just keep getting worse!! If all you have to choose from is horrible candidates on both sides, then you will be guaranteed to end up with bad results no matter what! Garbage in, Garbage out!!

in my opinion i think that they will most likely vote for whoever they think can govern the country well. not all actors are bad leaders and not all politicians are good ones so i just think that they will vote for whoever they think is best.
