I never changed who and what I am in order to "get a guy" or to "keep" one. I learned a long time ago that I wouldn't want someone who doesn't love and respect the "real" me. Who I am, is more important to me than having/getting/keeping a man.

I had to move away from my family. Is that what you mean? I moved away for just a little while and intended to return, but that's when I met my man. I miss my family like crazy, but wouldn't change anything.
