Ive often wondered why it is that some people are such optimists and others such pessimists.

Why is it that some people can mope about and feel so sorry for themselves or throw themselves off of bridges when people in much worser conditions can life quite happily? What differentiates the two groups?

first the nature of the genetical composition which later we call character, emotinal traits etc. Then the life style, whatthey pursue in life, the mental views and the level education. I found that the simple the life, the less the things ones has and expect, the happier the life. So, it depends to what state that the person is brought up, in what back ground for what demands. Because the more complex the life, the more complex the problems.

Yes, life is all in the view of the beholder. It just depends on the view and the paradigms that a person has for his life. If you felt that you are happy living though you are suffering much and that you have the vision of a better tomorrow in yourself well, its the guiding light. And if you felt that nothing would ever going to be better in your life well, that would be its dead end.

The difference between optimistic people and pessimist, is hope and wellness. Optimistic are too positive on hope, even as they say false hope. Well, false hope could be soothing at most times. While pessimist lack of it, let them think of being so unhappy about their lives and fortune other than to think of a situation as a "just now" situation and in the end of the dark room there's always a light outside.

The most important thing in life is to see its beauty no matter how dreadful is your vision is. That's what people are dreaming of and the reason why we continue living and to those who haven't dream of it, might choose to just lose it forever.

The people who feel sorry for themselves or jump off bridges obviously don;t like their lives or themselves.Others who are in much worse physical shape, often seem to have a more positive outlook on life and are determined to live as normal a life as possible, I think the biggest difference in these 2 groups is their faith and willingness to keep going through the tough times.
try to keep in mind that it's easier to get through anything with a positive attitude,.

Yes, truly life is a matter of perception, balance of chemicals, and nurturing. If all of these factors are poor or lacking, you can have an emotional train wreck. Even if one or two of these factors are scewed slightly, there can be problems. Some of the problems are solved by meds, or attitude adjustments (counseling). Other problems require long term solutions with a combination of both.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--"WOW--What a Ride!"
