A lot of people including myself put personal stuff in some answers. I suppose if they were a little insecure about someone reading all of those answers they may want to use the private option. Or someone may be stalking them .. bit creepy but it can happen

I think the only reason why anyone would is if they had soemting tohide. Like if a guy asks "is there anyone in the baystate area that wants to hook up?" knowing his wife/girl didnt ever go to that sectionit was asked in....he could hide that questions so she'd never know....then if she asked why it was hidden he could say..must be a glitch.....or a girl can answer questions even of the same nature without her man finding out??? that's my guess...

Maybe you just like to play Hide and Seek - I prefer to play Spin the Bottle or Postman's Knock ... anyway, you're giving me a headache so the games are off.

You can only hide them from users that you have previously blocked, but the rest will be able to see it. These users that you blocked won´t be able to access to any info on your profile, including your Q´s and answers, and by doing so you can avoid stalking and violations (some of them anyway) that way. I think it´s good.
EDIT -
Um, you are right.
But there was no need for thumbs down, whoever it was.

What's the point. Why would you want to hide your answers. That's the fun part, to see what others think of your ansers and read the rest. Sounds self righteous to me.

You could hide it? I didn't know. I guess some people don't want others to look at what they say or ask?

because some speech is within the guidelines but personally offensive to some. it's a way of censoring your own screen without denying others the opportunity to read. in other words, it cuts down on people reporting personally objectionable speech as speech that violates community guidelines.

Some people expose themselves with a lot of personal information here. Maybe they feel and think they are more protected.
