Yes but we cannot hear that. It is so small in amplitude. Same is the case with house fly. But we can hear the sound of mosquito's because of the higher frequency of its flap.
Also we cannot hear many high volume noises like the rotation of this huge earth. If we heard that, we could become deaf or even die because of its magnitude.

Yes. Sound is essentially a pressure wave moving through something (air or water, for example). Since the butterfly's wings moving through the air will technically generate pressure waves, there IS a sound - though it's surely very quiet =)

Yes, but it is too quiet for a normal person to hear. You would need special sound equipment.

you produce sound thru disturbance...the moment the butterfly flaps...it creates disturbance..creating vibration but...like the other guy said...too low in frequency...not enough for us to hear..you need to amplify it

yes, when I had one in the house, it was pretty audible.. sort of soft velvety flapping... especially when it tried to get through the closed window... I've set it free of course... and I do live in a silent area.. that helps... :-))) Oh and I've heard it flap under my cat's paw... :-(

Yes, of course, but it is so faint, we will never ever hear that with human ears.
