I'm travelling by myself.
What are some cities and things that would you recommend for a solo traveller?

Recently I have been doing a lot of solo travel.

The secret to enjoying myself is the following.

Have a purpose, goal or activity you want to do. I take photographs, and I can amuse myself all day walking around photographing things.

Meet locals. It helps if you speak the language, but in many Asian countries people will come up and speak to you. Korea, Japan, Phils and China are all like this.

Go to the backpacker places, where young people meet. In China, Guillin, Lijiang, Dali, Yangzhou, Hongkong are all places where you can hang out with other travellers. In Australia every major city has backpacker places where people can meet and get together. The problem is you often don't meet many locals when you travel this way.

Go trekking at Tibet , go with a group of people to mount everest or go to South African Safari. You can enjoy by just enjoying your own company at the same time you have a good holiday.
