Most cemeteries prohibit anyone being on the premises at night. This is mostly to prevent vandalism, though there are also safety issues. Check with the agency or association that owns the property, but I'd expect them to say no. It might be technically illegal in the sense that you'd be trespassing, but I don't know of any place where being in a cemetery (as opposed to other kinds of property) is specifically outlawed.

this could be a thoroughly genuine. whilst i replaced right into a boy in Minneapolis, my pals and that i might sneak into St. Mary's Cemetery overdue at evening. there replaced right into a niche below the fence for the time of from Mc Rae Park on forty sixth highway. in the cemetery is the Kelly Mausoleum. We use to call it knocking fortress. the reason of that replaced into of a delicate area in the door. it would reason an eco sound of a knock that regarded like somebody shifting around. once you're 10 and eleven that's frightening. One evening, we went in. Me, John, Rob, Doug and Tom. We made our thank you to the fortress, and heard the sound and scattered. I had the misfortune of working right into a freshly crammed in grave, and with out delay sank to very very nearly my knees. It replaced into the sole time my voice failed. I whispered help me, as I imagined 2 lifeless hands pulling me into the floor. 2 pals got here lower back and pulled me to protection. So, it incredibly is trespassing, yet positioned on black and do no harm. At maximum you would be kicked out.

It is illegal to be in a cemetary after dark in most if not all states including Michigan. While the intent of the law is to curb vandelism, cult practices, or other strange things the law would apply to your situation as well, it would be criminal tresspass.

I actually did spend the night in one after being left with no ride after a night of partying. I figured it was the best place to crash and not be bothered. Certainly beat going to jail for public drunkenness.

Yes.The only ones that should be there are the dearly departed. It's for protection of vandalism. Also why would you want to stay there all night?Your loved ones remains are there but not their souls.Keep good memories of the ones lost and don't try to join them before your time.Or you may end up in jail.

You would need to consult state, county and city/town ordinances.
And if it is on the books determine if still actually enforced.

Most cemeteries are private property. If they don't want you there, it would be trespassing.
