Ottawa to North Bay, 4 1/2 hours. North bay to Nipigon through Hearst, Cochrane is 13 hours. Nipigon to Thunder Bay =1 hour. Thunder Bay to the Manitoba border is 6 hours. Manitoba border to Winnipeg is 1 1/2 hours. Winnipeg to calgary is another 12-13 hours. Just under 40 hours driving straight through. As you enter Winnipeg from the east, take the Ring Road South to by-pass the city, you meet the TCH on the western side, takes 10-15 minutes to totally bypass the city. Enjoy your trip, Tim's in Hearst, Kapuskassing, Cochrane along Northern TCH through Ontario, easier drive, less tourists than through Sault Ste. Marie.
