Many bats LIKE to eat insects.
She will HAVE GRADUATED high school by the time she is 18.

If you have a plural noun (bats), a singular verb is used.
In the second case, WILL is future tense because it is something that has yet to happen. If in the past, it would read: She HAD graduated....
