Well this is hilarious, who'd have thought it. I quite like old Phil he's always putting his foot in it and I bet the Queen could throttle him sometimes. Well he's only human after all, although maybe not now he's achieved this title!

Sorry, but you are inaccurate, the report says that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, ( 86 today) is worshipped AS a god. Not the same thing at all. Incidentally, another correspondent was absolutely correct (though managed incredibly to get 2 thumbs down) by saying that Prince Philip's mother, the late Princess Alice, was indeed a Greek Orthodox Nun. In her last years of life She lived in an apartment at Buckingham Palace and was instantly recognisable, floating down the corridors in Her grey nun's habit.

This is really old news;he was "created" a god many years ago on one of his numerous goodwill tours. The Duke was very amused by the honor.

I saw this online a day or so ago. Isn't this an example of a cargo cult*?

Thank you for that. This only serves to confirm a long held theory of mine, that the Duke of Edinburgh is indeed a Deity .He won the second world war,the Burma campaign, the entire war in the Pacific and the Korean war single-handily as you can see by the array of medals that he proudly displays on his chest.By comparison my grandmother, who lost two of her sons while they were fighting for this country (both within ten days of each other),received no recognition whatsoever.Hero's eh.
