Man I hate that feeling! The key is to keep busy during the day...work out before bed time, that will help you sleep. Drink some milk, I always drink a glass of chocolate milk if I can't sleep. Eat a snack...maybe you're hungry! Just try to make the day full so you will sleep better at night.
Please don't cry...
Sweet dreams. :)

Me too. Didn't get to sleep till approximately one million a.m. and I needed to be up at 7. I awoke very worn out, above all in view that I tossed and grew to become all night time. And while I eventually fell into a nap deep sufficient to dream, I had a nightmare. What's up with the universe?

Things that happen has happened. Crying will not solve what is past. Think of the good things in life and the many good things to come. Thank yourself for the good health you are in and the good things you have now. Remember when you cry you alone suffer, be happy and the world smile with you. Deep inside you you feel so good and you are so good to yourself. So cheer up, watch a movie on TV, or read a book to tire your eyes and fall asleep.

OK this might seem stupid but it usually works for me. I used to lay awake at night thinking about work (and Jessica Alba and hockey of course, but also work, trying to figure out how to survive the following day). After I realized it was keeping me awake for extra hours, I decided that from that point on, I would plan out my day in the shower in the morning. So I actually incorporated that into my morning routine, and fairly soon I wasn't worrying about work at all when trying to go to sleep at night! Of course it meant that I often miss spots in the shower, but that's another story.
Maybe something similar will work for you? Figure out a way to postpone your 'thinking about bad things that happened during the day' until the following morning? And another cool thing about that is that after a good night's sleep, many of the bad things might not seem so bad!

Well when i cried myself to sleep, i pretty much had a good night sleep because i was so tired from crying. but usually i just concentrate lazily on something else and i just find myself drifting. Next minute its 8 in the morning.

See the webpage below under SLEEPING PROBLEMS. Exercise during the day and also sunbathe. Learn something that helps with stress like yoga or meditation. Nice legs.

Try small doses of Melatonin, Valerian Root, Chamomile, or L-Theanine- All over the counter. If you have a recurring problem, or suffer from anxiety and depression see a doctor that can help you. Sleep disorders can frequently be a symptom of anxiety and/or depression.

If you're looking for medication, the one with the least side effects is... wait for it... benedryl! Its over the counter, non addictive, and if you get an off brand (walgreens brand, walmart brand, whatever) its cheaper than any prescribed med... i actually have a prescription for benedryl, to take EVERY night to get rid of my insomnia... i've been on it for 5 years, and its side efffects... i have less allergies, and i can sleep...
