I just bought a HIGHPOINT ROCKETRAID454 4 CHANNEL ATA133 RAID CONTROLLER PCI 0/1/5/10/JBOD I have two exsiting hard drives setup with one partition each both full of data , I want to know when i setup my disk array will i lose my data?

yes

in order to mirror or utilize the raid setup you need to get the drives looking like each other, meaning their partions will match each others partion. they're all going to be basically the same partion just on 2 drives. like a mirror.

I'm sure the two drives are not the same model/make. thats ok, but your only as strong as your weakest link remember that. You bigger drive will shrink to match the smaller one.

just back it up and enjoy the raid. email me and let me know how much faster it is. I'm thinking about a raid setup myself
