He had a fastball, change up, a nasty curve, and a slider i think he developed later in his career.

Nolan Ryan, or Gary Nolan?
Ryan had the fastball, a circle changeup that he mastered after moving to Houston, and a curveball that, when it was working, looked like it fell off a table.
His fastball was so good that he could go a long way in a game with only that, if his command of his other pitches was off.
He also sometimes threw a scuffball but we don't talk about that.

You mean Nolan Ryan? Then say so.
He was famous for his fastball, often clocked over 100 mph even late in his career. But the pitch that really made him great was a big overhand curve. His catchers have said that they could tell in the first inning if his curve ball was in the strike zone, the hitters weren't going to have a chance that day. If he was having trouble getting his curve in, there would be a lot of walks that day and who knows what would happen.

The pitches I remember him throwing were:
4 seam fastball
curve ball
split fingered fast ball
Pretty much a typical power pitcher's pitch selection.

Ryan's best pitch was his intimidating "Bean Ball"....Just rear back and throw a 4-seamer towards the batter's chin.
