Sometimes it is hard to forgive and you want to hold a grudge, but I think you'll eventually feel worse for holding on to a grudge. I think if you learn to forgive, you are the bigger in the matter because you took the mature approach. I try to forgive people, it is harder to pardon some people rather than others, and sometimes, I get a burst of anger thinking about something that happened another time. I also think most people won't be able to forget somethings that have happened to them before. Therefore, I think it is okay to forgive, but not to forget, you'll be an angry bitter person if you hold grudges, forgiving, allows the person a redeeming chance, you may fogive, but never trust again, and that is okay in my book, because you are being cautious and giving the offender another chance even though they messed up their first chance by themselves.

More like hold grudges if what they did is really serious like betrayal. If it was an honest mistake, then I'll forgive.

To forgive is commanded by God. You are forgiven as you forgive.
Here's a story for you about resentment or grudge holding.
There were two friends, they had a big argument. The one fellow got very angry at his friend over this argument. He fumed over it and fumed over it. Finally about 2 years later he decided to go confront his friend about it. He arrived at his friends home and knocked on the door. A woman answered the door. The fellow asked if his friend was at home. The woman said, well I am his wife and this was his home. He died about a year ago.
Now tell me who was hurt the most over the resentment that was held for at least a year against a dead man?
A lot of people feel they are punishing the offender, by not forgiving them. Actually they are punishing themselves.

It depends on the situation. There are some situations which have happened to me in the past, that someone has hurt me so bad that I don't think I could ever forgive them. Though usually I forgive people.

I will hold a grudge for awhile, but after a while I just forgive them. You can't stay mad at someone forever, that is just silly. :)

I always forgive. Grudges use up too much energy I could use elsewhere.

Here's how it goes; I forgive people, never hold grudges; if someone harmed me in anyway shape and or form I stay the hell away from them.
