I see similarities. When O'Malley moved the Dodgers from Brooklyn (along with Stoneham moving the Giants) he really alienated much of baseball. Some people were happy that baseball was spread out nationally but there was a lot of resentment. He affected a major difference in both income and expense for the other owners. This was very high profile in and out of sports.
Steinbrenner also worried little about the opinion of others with his visions for the Yankees. He also was a New Yorker that new how to use the media.

I really don't like either of them, but I will say that I don't think Steinbrenner would turn his back on New York City and move his team away the same way that Walter O'Malley did.

I am sure you mean INNOVATIVE, not innovated!! Anyway, O'Malley had some decency to him and a heart for his players. Steinbrenner is just a rich blowhard who likes headlines.

Chow!!

Didn't Steinbrenner create His own legend of being a hard person to get on with for His own purpose?
