Labor is really a true enigma. Some women contract for weeks before they go into stage 1 labor. Having 2 painful contractions shows things are progressing but does not mean she will be in labor soon. Walking around can either perpetuate more consistant labor contractions or they can stop them. The more consistant the contractions and more intense is a signe she is going into labor. If she has contractions the come every 3-5 minutes and become more intense she is most likely in labor and most labor can last up to 13 hours sometimes 20 hours. So just be there to comfort and help mom out until the contractions become more consistant.

There really is no way to know. The usual period for a baby to grow is 40 weeks. Many women have their baby between 39 weeks and 40 weeks. Some have it after 40 weeks. So your sibling could be born today, or it could be more than a week away.

I was in labor for a week having contractions that were not regular the last night they were so bad i couldn't sit or lay down I walked the floors all night and stood in one spot and rocked back in forth so you never know the baby may come

I wish we had an answer to that. Because if I knew how to tell, than I would know when my baby is coming out. I am 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. Hopefully tonight :)

if walking helps she is not in labour, but if there are any doubts go to the hospital, the baby can arrive at any time, usually they want you to come in when the contractions are a few minutes apart and last for 20-30 seconds.

any time in the next few hours to the next few weeks. 2 contractions does not equal labor but a lot of timeable contractions warrants a trip to the hospital

It could be today, it could be as long as 2-3 more weeks. The baby will come when s/he's ready, or when the Dr. induces labor.

It sounds like your mum will probably have your baby brother or sister sometime today. Possibly in the next 6-8 hrs. Good luck

you just never know...the only way to know if she's in labor is if the contractions keep comming or if her water breaks. If her water breaks she need to stay in bed....no walking around...or go to the hospital if she not planning a home birth.
dont worry, the little one will be there soon enough.
