You can message me through my profile here on Yahoo!Answers if you'd like to chat more about this... I am feeling your frustration!!!! I so clearly remember being on the emotional roller coaster you are on now.....
I too have PCOS! We tried unsuccessfully on our own for SEVEN years without conceiving. It was only about the last year of that time when I found out I had PCOS. I started seeing a specialist after that..... I had all the tests done..... It was determined I was not ovulating on my own (the doctors I saw never "believed" in the OPK's so I never had to fool with those).... So I was started on Provera to induce periods (which is probably what you are on now, the "medroproysdsadhfka" stuff....lol, sorry I know that's not the proper spelling but I think that's what you're on), and then the Provera was followed by the fertility drug Clomid which was followed by at-home injections of the hormone HCG to force ovulation..... But the third round (month) of this routine WORKED!
You CAN have babies with PCOS!!!! Don't give up hope!!! We had our miracle baby girl in December 2003 (she's 3.5 now) and we conceived NATURALLY and by total surprise in November of 2005... he is now 10 months old! His conception was natural but it still took from the beginning of 2004 to nearly the end of 2005 to conceive.... We weren't using protection all that time because we figured we'd need to use fertility drugs again to conceive... surprise!!!!
Have you been trying for a long time to conceive? They will often not consider putting you on fertility drugs until after you have been actively trying to conceive for one year without success.... I understand your hesitation about using the fertility drugs too..... but we felt it was our only option in our case and my experience on Clomid was not bad at all....
Again, write me directly if you'd like to chat more about this.... I am set up to be able to receive messages....! Best of luck to you!!! Hang in there!!!!
I wanted to mention also: "Happyinlove" mentioned something important... If you are in fact taking Provera to induce periods each month... Use protection around the time you're taking it. It's not good to conceive while taking Provera, it's been proven to cause birth defects early in pregnancy (and in her case, apparently caused a miscarriage! :( ) I remember I was always told by my doctor to use condoms around the time I took the Provera (it was like for 3 days each month or something)... and then it was later in the month, once I was found to have the right size follicles, etc, from taking the Clomid that I then took the injection of HCG and baby-danced for a few days following that.... Ack! It's a lot to remember, it's a lot to go through... But I tell you, the end results.... Priceless! It's just if you are unsure, ask your doctor about what specific days surrounding taking the Provera you should use protection...
Take Care!

Guess what, you could be. I have PCOS and two children..My PCOS causes such an upset with my hormones that some months I don't ovulate and some months I can feel nothing but those stinging pains 3-10 days out of the month.
I have had every non-invasive and invasive test in the book only to have the Doctors tell me that although rare this is quite possible for some women. I was actually 7 weeks along and had a small cyst burst when I was pregnant with my son and he is fine.
If you don't get pregnant within 6 months do the treatments. It will be well worth it.
I do suggest you talk to your Pharmacists and use a high end ovulation kit.
Good luck!

If you are on metformin and Medroxyprogesterone aka Provera and ttc then every month before you start the medroxy... again you need to do a pregnancy test, if i had known this i would have never miscarried. my doc. failed to tell me this she was a gyno. now i went on to see a specialist. To answer your question yes, you can go on to conceive naturally, you do still need to take the metformin this is not a fertility medication but it can help to change you cycle and to balance your hormones. If you do not want to take any medicaton at all you can go the herbal route, there is a product called fertility blend ( for men and women) you can find this at your local health food store it has a variety of vitamins and herbs that can boost fertility and help you get started. hope this helps. I been ttc 7 years w/ pcos 1 pregnancy and ive done my research on just about everything.

You and I are in the same boat. I too have PCOS and me and my hubby have been trying for over a year and still negative results. I totally understand what you mean about taking the tests and getting negative results (Lord know how many times I cried over and over). I too never heard of PCOS before and sadly enough everything I read just depressed me more. I have taken Metformin, Provera, Clomid, Ovidrel along with a prenatal vitamin. Sadly enough all with negative results. My doctor (which is a fertity specialist) stated that my next step is hormonal injections. My appointment is next week with my doctor and I guess we are going to discuss the hormonal injection options for me. Another bit of advice is whenever you are prescribed any type of medication make sure you READ, READ, READ on the medication- because my doctor prescribed me a medication and when I read on it it stated that if you are allergic to peanuts you shouldn't take it...And I am allergic to peanuts!! Either way my best advice to you is # 1 relax (Believe me I know it is better said than done) and #2 just make sure you have a great support system because it takes a toll on you. Lucky for me my hubby is my support system. Also, in regards to those over the counter ovulation kits---Don't believe them! They have not worked on me. So I have to get actual blood test to determine if I am ovulating on my cycles. I honestly, whole heartly wish you the very best !!!!

Don't be scared by a PCOS diagnosis, just find out all the information you can, and your gynecologist will help guide you through everything. Like another answerer, I, too, have a miracle baby, conceived naturally two years after we were married. However, that is our one and only, since we decided not to do any high-tech intervention.
One thing you also must realize is that LOTS of couples are having trouble conceiving these days - because of the pseudoestrogens, chemicals, additives, environmental factors, etc. I don't say that to make you feel 'better', but it's just a fact that others are struggling to, because of different circumstances.
Whatever happens, remember that stress is a factor which can complicate things as well. Love your husband, and love him well. Make love not just to 'make a baby', but because the two of you love one another.
Wishing you baby dust -- lots of it!

Doing any kind of hormone testing for preganacy is almost impossible. I have it but just got diagnosed with it. I have 2 kids already and don't want anymore. You can try to have ovarian drilling done in hopes that it will help your ovaries. It is a laproscopy and they go in and clear the cycsts off of your ovaries along with the scare tissue helping your ovaries to be healthy for a short time. If that doesn't work then you will want to consider fertility drugs.

I just want you to know that PCOS sufferer are having children everyday. I too am a PCOS sufferer and after 5 long years of TTC, I finally was pregnant and now a mommy of a 14 M old girl. Don't give up!! There is a wonderful support group for us at Soulcysters.net, you will be able to share with all the "cysters" with all the emotional roller coasters and ask about their medical journey. I found myself much more educated about PCOS after I join the group, and to me, knowledge is power, it gave me strength to continue my TTC journey.

I do not know your age. I would say however, the longer you wait the less healthy eggs you will have. You should use some drug to help you ovulate. Also, I heard that consuming yams and clove will help you ovulate.
