I would like to start a business plan for a restaurant and hopefully make it into a chain. It can be compared to TGI Friday’s .I would love some suggestions to get started and how I should build my business plan also since I have no information and percentages on my actual restaurant but, I do have an awesome idea. Any help or websites would help and what steps should i take to get my business and idea known for investing purposes, financially I would need assistants as well. Thank you

There are a plethora of sources for business plans, including SCORE (www.score.org - part of the Small Business Administration, www.sba.gov), in which a retired businessperson will assist in helping you create a plan. There are also websites (do a search) and books available from any public library. Also, if you have a university with a business school where you are located, there may be a program available through that school

However, know that restauranting is an extremely difficult business. Profit margins are low, failure rates are high, and, generally speaking, if you are directly involved in the business, you will be working 7 days a week, sometimes 12 hours a day.

But if you love hard work, long hours, and you will be offering your community a restaurant (where they did not have one or one of that type), then you might have a hit on your hands.
