If its for a newborn, kids his age probably wont know about the show so you wouldnt have to worry about him getting made fun of.

I think if you like the name a lot, you should use it. But if you are afraid it will sound too 1980's, then use it as a middle name.

Here are some ideas for you:

* Avery Macgyver *

* Carlyle Macgyver *

* Chevy Macgyver *

* Emery Macgyver *

* Emrys Macgyver *

* Evan Macgyver *

* Everett Macgyver *

* Glynn Macgyver *

* Greg Macgyver *

* Rayme Macgyver *

* Reeve Macgyver *

* Remy Macgyver *

* Ryley Macgyver *

Best Wishes!!!!

The show is not on as much as before...I am not even sure if it is on at all....so getting teased by other kids should not be a problem.

I like the name and this is a strong Scottish boy's name....

I guess if you want your kid to be teased every day on the playground, MacGyver would offer a lot of material for the mean kids. If you want to call him Mac, just name him Mac.

And you had the audacity to criticize the name Paisley? Macgyver? Are you kidding me? That is pitiful.

Don't do that to a child. It may be a Scottish name traditionally, but no one will think of that. He will forever be asked if he can get out of a situation with a sock, paperclip and a roll of duct tape. Don't be mean like that.

No. I read the name and instantly thought about the 1980's.
