If you want something to eat, you should eat something. If you want something to drink, you should drink something. Soup doesn't make sense.

Because sometimes, just sometimes, IT "eats like a meal". And we soup eaters like it when our soup decides for us.

Some people don't like wet food. You are one of them obviously. Soups are a great way to use up food and not waste anything. Soups are delicious on a cold day or in a sick tummy. Soups are... nutritious and easy to eat.
My soups in the winter are often no more than hot salads and so delicious.
You just need to meet someone who makes a soup that gets you addicted lol. Then you won't care if it makes sense or not.
