Take what you can get if it's your first job. Food prep, cashier, whatever. They will probably train you on all positions. Show eagerness to learn lots of different jobs, that way you can pick up more shifts.

The best place is out front at the registers. Here's why- when you work in the future elsewhere, you will most likely have to deal with the public in some capacity. It may be co-workers, managers or customer service. You will also gain experience with responsibility on a financial level. Trust me on this one; I worked at McDonald's as a teenager. I have no regrets because that experience has been with me always. Look at this as an entry level position for the rest of your working career. Best of luck!

If thats all you wanna do is wor at a fast food place, then you should be able to get any position at one of those places. It looks good on a resume as wel, from what I have heard. My cousin started out working at a McDonalds, and now is the Head Chef at a very upscale restaurant. You just have to choose the right route.

I'm 16 y/o & I work as a fry cooker at McDonald's. A 16 y/o teen can do almost any job at a fast food burger joint like McD's except for being manager- you have to be a bit more experienced to be a manager.

I worked at a burger place and some have waitress',Dish washers, Friers, Cookers. Cashier, Drive thru- Usually at those places you switch off every shift doing different things. Like at wendy's some people do the dressing, packaging, drinks. All different things.

Entrance level. Meaning the lowest paid position. So at any fast food place you will be doing anything that is paid least. Which is ok, you do a good job you'll quickly work your way up to better money before school starts again......depending on the company. ;)

Flipping burgers, unloading the delivery truck and stocking the food, dressing the burgers. They probably will not put you on a cash register. Most likely they would have you doing a lot of cleaning, too.

worked at mcd's and subway when i was younger. it was all just called crew. when asked by the manager what i wanted to do the most, i said all of it. i did a lot of cross training. doing a little of everything. that gave me more hours. when someone called in sick i was first to be called in to cover. great for me. i was trying to save for senior year.
