Yes, he was great in his prime. However, he's overrated until he shuts down someone of relevance (read: one of the top teams in the AL like the Red Sox, Angels, etc.), not the PirAAtes or the Rockies. I'm sick of the Eastern Seaboard Propaganda Network slobbering all over his groin area and promoting him as the Yankees' messiah...

Well, ESPN made a huge deal about it because it is well, "the rocket relaunch." It's his first time back!! And as a yankee fan, maybe he is a little overrated, but who cares? He is a future hall of famer who is making a long awaited return to the yankees who need some serious pitching help. The reason he is becoming so publicized is become it is roger's first time back in NY since their world series run, and right now they need some help, and a big name guy like roger is coming in.

Clemens WAS the best pitcher of his generation with competition from R. Johnson and Maddux. But, now, he's just an old baseball player on his last leg that "retires" every year. He is overrated now. Clemens' fastball doesn't even reach 90 mph anymore. Average stuff from a once great pitcher.

He used to be great. I think he could be a descent 3 starter now. Not the ace the Yankees are trying to make him. I agree that they shouldnt be too excited for him pitching well against the Pirates. Its too bad he "was hurt" last week and couldnt start against a descent team in the White Sox then they could have seen how well he is really pitching. I think they (being the Yankees) knew that if he pitched against the White Sox last week he would have lost and then they would have looked bad for paying him so much so they pushed him back to the Pirates. I dont believe for one second that he was hurt. The guy is always "hurt" and coincidentally it usually happens right after he gives up a big inning to the opposing team. He cant handle that he doesnt do well so hes "hurt". I cant wait til he pitches against the Red Sox, who he could have pitched against in Fenway last weekend but they pushed him back from that start to the White Sox before moving him back again, cause the Sox will kill him with that line up.

First off I'd love to deliver a bit reality approximately Roger Clemens. I are living within the subject he was once born, Dayton, Ohio. Yes, no longer many realize he was once born right here. So with my wager I consider he's going to both keep in Houston or pass to the Reds in Cinncinnatti, Ohio.

I don't think anyone is expecting Roger to come away with the Cy Young. But time and time again when people say he over-the-hill or past his prime he comes back and does something amazing. Remember when Nolan Ryan threw his last no-hitter at the age of 44. Roger is 44... think about it

Today, he pitched pretty well against the Pirates considering his age.

Roger Clemens is "The Rocket". He is a Hall-of-Famer as we speak and are getting to watch him in live action. That is why there is a big deal and will continue to be a big deal. Is he overrated now at 40+? maybe. Does he deserve it? YES YES YES!!!!!!!

YES, he is!! And, he gave up THREE runs to the lowly Pirates in just six innings. The man is a has been, and the Yankees are fools if they think he can help them, let alone get into the playoffs. It isn't going to happen!!

Chow!!

He is without a doubt over hyped and overpaid but, I wouldnt go so far as to say he is overrated. He is the greatest right ahnded pitcher of my lifetime(I am by no means a fan of his though no matter where he pitches).
