What do you think of the Paris Hilton case? Was the sheriff being soft when he let her out? Was the judge wrong for not arresting him? Should the judge have let her free or was he right for putting her back in? Was it wrong of him to make her sentence the whole 45 days when it was the sheriff who let her out? Do you think she should have went back to her 23 days?

Is it just me, or is this girl strongly disliked by alot of the public? I personally do not care for her and I coulnd't beleive when I turned on the radio Thursday morning and they said she was out. Then I turned on CNN at work fri afternoon and saw they put her back. It's about time someone does something. Although I agree it won't change her. That judge has my vote!!

That judge is a publicity hound.

After Jenna Bush's third conviction for an alcohol-related offense she was ordered to pay court costs, take six hours of alcohol counseling, and serve eight hours of community service. According to the Chronicle a 30-day driver's license suspension is stipulated in the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code for a first offense, but was not enforced.

That whole thing was set up and it was proven already on every TV outlet and commentary. Paris is not as stupid as everyone thinks. She tried to pull a fast one and this time her pretty face and smiles didn't work. Does she deserve the 45 days? Originally I thought that was a bit harsh, but after this stunt she deserves the whole 45 days. Maybe that'll humble her to some degree and she'll finally realize as well as all those other young tramps they can't break the law and get away with it. If it were you or me? We'd be in jaill and no one would have given a hoot how much we were crying or how depressed we were or even on the verge of a nervous breakdown (which I think is bull. I had a nervous breakdown years ago and it doesn't happen overnight. You do not go to the MTV awards and party with a smile on your face and then claim nervous breakdown 3 days later. WHAT A CROCK!) Screw Paris. Another drunk driver off the streets even if temporarily. I've partied my booty off and never ever got behind a wheel and always took a cab or train home, and I definitely do not have Paris' money. I take a hit to my pocket when I've cabbed it home and doggy bag my lunch to work for the week. As for the Sheriff he certainly doesn't have his fellow blue's supporting him and am waiting to hear of his fate if any. He should be suspended without pay or fired.

I think the sheriff was paid off to let her out. The judge's order gave specific orders which are not usually ignored by law enforcement officials. Now, she will do the whole 45 days. That is very little. In Florida she would have been put in jail the second time and the third time could not have happened. What is she killed a kid while driving drunk?

The thing I have trouble understanding with these very wealthy people is why not ride their limo? We working slobs take cabs when we have had too much, so shouldn't they at least take their limo?

last year paris hilton's grandfather gave $1000 to the sheriff for his campaign to help kids become cops. so that's why sheriff is protecting paris hilton so much. even though if an average person breaks their probation and gets caught for another crime they will not all of a sudden go to jail like paris hilton. but the judge wanted to show that even a celeb won't get special treatment so the judge was especially tought on her. i think they should leave the sentence it really doesn't matter if hilton spends a year or 45 days there. she will use this as a publicity stunt and make money off of it in the end. she won't learn her lesson. the first few days after she gets out of jail she will claim to change but then go back to her party lifestyle. i know 110% sure that paris WON'T learn her lesson.

The Sheriff's favoritism still hasn't stopped. He already is on the record saying she will only have to serve 18 days because of the rules regarding good behavior. GOOD BEHAVIOR? Has she yet displayed any good behavior?

I just caught a news clip where her sister came to visit and they let her just walk around the long line of people waiting to visit inmates. She was able to just walk up, sign in and go visit.

California had better take a long hard look at itself. There is no Royalty in America. Someone should let Arnold know that this is not Austria.

Paris Hilton thought she could get away from it. When the judge found out she was out of jail, he pulled her card. I'm glad he put his foot down on her. Celebreties need to realize, they're not above the law. The way she cried and screamed shows the character of what type of person she really is. When she claimed she was severely ill. Oh boy, I knew this had to be a game she was playing. Something like that, should have been taken cared of in the hospital, handcuff to a bedrail. But what upsets me, is her mother. She was in tears over her daughter's wrongness. She needs to wake her lily-white *** up! Paris has done this to herself. Had that been me. One thing, I wouldn't want my mother to come to trial. I'd be embarrased. On top, the judge would've crucified me.

She deserves to serve her 45 days in jail. The judge that put her in place, has got my vote also. I am very appaulled by this stunt she has pulled. She need to wake up. She is 26 years old. Majority of 26 year old learn to live up to their mistakes and take responsibility. Unfortunately, she hasn't. I doubt she will soon, even if she tells the media she's going straight.

the judge made his ruling, and gave his sentence. the sheriff defied the judge by releasing her and should have been dealt with by the judge, and may still be. paris is a spoiled rich kid who thinks she should be treated differently, and allowed to decide for herself how she is to be dealt with. personally, i think she should just stay in jail just like any other criminal. she is not above the law, and the judge did what he should have done when he learned she had been released against his own orders not to be released. dragging her back into court is what she deserved. her crying had no effect on me other than to confirm what i already knew. she thought she could do as she pleased and her lawyers would get her preferential treatment. when she was ordered back to jail, she acted like the spoiled little rich girl she is.
i had a good laugh about her show, and am still laughing at her plight.

I think the sheriff was promised one night in Paris for his cooperation.

Paris Hilton's punishment isn't just for her underlying offense. It's for her violation of probation and her complete disrespect for the legal system. She thinks she's above the law, and that money and privilege are more important than respect and common decency. She should serve her sentence in jail, not at her estate with people catering to her every whim.

when you violate probation a judge can legally send you to prison to serve the entire length of it. for paris, thats up to one year. the judge was 98% right - i would have given her 90 days.

and if she get more time than most people in her circumstances, thats good. most DUI recipients arent million-heiresses who dont have to worry about having to ride the bus to get to work since they cant drive their cars, either.
