Democrats don't acknowledge any fault of any kind. Regardless of their entire leadership is made up of criminals and those that are not yet under indictment. They only care about power, the state of the nation and the state of the citizens is of no concern to them. No need to list the obtuse logic they use, the lies, the exaggerations, the deceit, it is all to obvious for anyone to see.

The real question is: why have we as a country become so obsessed with this political infighting that we've forgotten the bigger issues?
Yes there's problems abroad, yes there's problems at home; but we've got to start working together and finding the answers everybody! This country has the greatest potential of any nation in the 4-billion-year history of our planet to make it a better place for everyone. We're not all going to agree, but that doesn't mean we can't work together. Stop worrying about who else to point your finger at, look at yourself, and realize that we've all got to make it our own personal responsibility to leave this place better than we found it.

We do that, and we'll see change for the better.

FDR pretty much saved us from the traumatic impact and devastation on this country brought on by the Republican Hoover administration's Great Depression. JFK brought new optimism at the height of the cold war. Historians are already recording Clinton as the President during the longest period of peacetime prosperity in our nation's history. Let's see Bush's incompetence brought us the greatest breach in security in our nation's history, failure to track down the mastermind, lying and taking us into a failed war with no strategy or decent support, complete failure of the federal government in the face of a huge natural disaster, running up the biggest deficit in history, breaking treaties, violation of the Bill of Rights, suspension of Habeus Corpus; I don't think history will judge the Republicans so kindly.

The Democrats are already re-writting history, and the government schools are not teaching the real story, so in the long run nobody will ever know how good it was before JFK, and this downward trend began. Because all of the people who were alive before this nonsense started will be dead. Sad but true. The children of today will grow up allienated and think this is fair, and the only way it has ever been. (without the freedoms of this generation of course)

Ah! You guys!
You get power for 8 years, and you still complain. You apparently think that somehow, democrats messed everything up just by existing and conspiring. Does that mean Republicans are too incompetent to get things their way even when they're in power?

Bush blew Iraq. He blew Katrina. Bush blew the economy. Bush blew immigration. Bush blew finding Bin Laden. He blew the last elections. Bush has blown pretty much everything that he's tried... but you want the Dems to take responsibility for devastating the country?

The history books will record this period of the Bush Presidency as "the imbecile years".

OUR WHOLE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO TAKE RESPOSIBILITY! WE'RE IN A WAR THAT CAN'T BE WON INSTEAD OF HELPING THE PEOPLE AT HOME THAT REALLY DO. WHY DID WE HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME DEALING WITH KATRINA? BECAUSE WE'RE MORE WORRIED ABOUT A SOCIETY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD INSTEAD OF OUR HOME! IT'S ONLY GONNA GET WORSE! THE GOVERNMENT HASN'T BEEN TRUSTWORTHY SINCE GEORGE WASHINGTON! THE QUESTION IS HOW WILL HISTORY RECALL THE NATION'S TRAUMATIC IMPACT AND DEVESTATION ON THE WORLD!?!

no, dear, the tearing apart, the politics of personal destruction has been a gift of the republicans. it's been shocking, appalling, and overwhelming. dems, so used to assuming we were all on the same side ultimately, have not been able to catch up to the viciousness. well, we just don't have it in us.

the divisiveness was a strategy of team reagan. the fundies were used by the corporatists as their shock troops, and they started tearing apart 1)gays,2)women 3)atheists 4)any non-christian 5)"liberals', 6) hollywood types, 7)eastern establishment types (unlike the yalie bushes, i guess), 8) the reds and the blues, 9) etc etc etc

The rhetoric has been hateful and very destructive to our country, as you note. You just don't seem to know who's done it.

Democratic party history will be recorded as 1)party of civil rights 2) party of the new deal 3)party that took america to war to save europe with the help of the soviets 4)the party that saved america from communism, by enforcing labor standards 5) the party that got americans (at least) a (paltry) 6 weeks off for a new baby or a sick family member and so on and so forth
