I had to have an emergency caeser, so I was given an epidural (2 actually). Unfortunately I was drugged out, for about 3 days prior to the birth as well, because it was a very premature labour, which they were trying to hold off. I do remember a little of the birth, but obviously it wasn't really what I was expecting.

I'm not pregnant yet, but when I am and going to give birth to that person who is made out of me and my husband, I would want to give birth without any epidurals or drugs.
I think childbirth is the equalizer among all the women in the world. Regardless of race, whether rich or poor - childbirth is beautiful.

Ha ha!! Very funny!!
But to answer your question, both of my children were born with no drugs...
I have to say, though, that with my first child, I had NO IDEA what I was in for and if it had not been for the fact that it was a home-birth (and in the state where I resided, administering those kinds of drugs was not legal during a home-birth) I would've caved and had the drugs...
With my second child, though, I was better prepared and got through just great!
Definitely worth it both times and I think my experiences were SO much better than my sister and all of my friends who went other routes.

The first one was like going to the hospital and picking up a baby ( I had drugs ). The second was an unexpected natural....I stopped at 2...never again!!! The kids don't know or appreciate what you go through. Don't be a martyr...Take the drugs! It will be your last good sleep in a long time.

Oh my goodness....Every woman who gives birth w/out an Epidural, when she has a choice Is a real woman as far as I am concerned OR has a REALLY high pain tolerance....I've had 3 kids and Epidurals every time, but w/my last kid, I got it so late over a misunderstanding....I almost had her naturally...Thought I was going to die....I was numb for 3-4 hrs. after wards though.....More power to you tough women....

My wife had anesthetics. She wasn't passed out and drugged when she got pregnant.

An epidural is all she needs. WONDERFUL. She should be awake to experience the whole ordeal (nothing like it), but numb. Back in the old days they knocked the women out completely. Weird. Why?

i was overdue, and my labor had to be induced. I had the iv drugs the epidural and god knows what else. My son was so stubborn that he wouldn't come out, i had to have a c-section from being in labor for 19 hours....so yes, i would rather be drugged......

With my first I had some pain meds because labor was taking so long, but they wore off way before the birth & they wouldn't give more for fear of hurting the baby...She was 9lbs. 10oz.! With my second baby...there wasn't any time for pain meds...I was dialated 8 when I got there in full labor...so that one was definitely natural...and he was 10lbs. 10oz....not an easy feat I'll tell you!!!!
