as to the pension - how old is your father and how many years did he work at the job? pensions usually are for people who are "vested" for example worked at the same place for 20-30 years. If it is a 401k plan he may be entitled to a payment of what he put into the plan, or he could roll it over to his new job.

as to your accident - I'm sorry you were injured but what does it have to do with your father's pension?

No one is entitled to a pension. Some companies offer pensions, most do not. Government positions (federal, state, city) usually offer pensions, but if you are terminated before you are vested(entitled) you don't get it. Most companies today are eliminating pensions.
You may be talking about social security?

Everyone is not required to get a pension. Those that get one must meet several requirements, such as age, years of service etc.

What does your accident have to do with his pension? You just seem to ramble without going anywhere with that. I am glad you are OK after your accident.

Did he retire or did he get fired?
If he got fired, he won't be entitled to pension. At least that holds with the government sectors, I think.

Everyone is not required (entitled) to get a pension from their employers. Every company is different.
