The US supports many corrupt dictatorships around the world. That's a fact. Democracy doesn't matter to the US government as you can see that the US has a comfortable relationship with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. So dictatorships are fine with the US. It does not mean that all American citizens accept this. There's a good chance that in Iraq whether the US stays or not will become a dictatorship. That dictatorship may a lot more repressive than Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. After all the American deaths in Iraq (more Americans have died there than died during 911), can you accept the end result of a corrupt dictatorship in power? If you can, was democracy ever a goal of the invasion? What is America saying by accepting dictatorship? My last question is could some form of dictatorship by the govt be acceptable by those in government in America itself?

Democracy was never a goal. We can not alter the mindset of a people when we have no knowledge and little appreciation for their mores and standards. We need to leave Iraq and let them settle the civil war we started. The US will never rule the world in spite of Bush. Look at how many nations now hate Americans who once loved us and looked upon as as "saviors".

War profiteering is the goal of Cheney. $15,000,000 worth of oil is missing PER DAY in Iraq. You do know that Cheney tells Bush what to do and Rove tells him what to say, right?

You make a good point...The war was sold mainly on a couple of points. 1) Iraq is a threat to US security 2) The Iraqi people have been suffering under Saddam and deserve democracy. Neither of these could possibly be a real motive. There are many nations that pose a much clearer threat to our security than Iraq did. There are also many nations with far worse human rights situations than Iraq at the time of the invasion, and we certainly ok with dictatorships in other countries. So...what was the real motive???

To quote the speech from Ron Paul within the hyperlink underneath: "What if a few day it dawns on us that wasting over five,000 American army body of workers within the Middle East because nine/eleven isn't a reasonable exchange off for the lack of just about three,000 American civilians, regardless of what number of Iraqi, Pakistani and Afghan men and women are killed or displaced? What if occupying international locations like Iraq and Afghanistan and bombing Pakistan is immediately concerning the hatred directed closer to us? .......What whether it is ultimately realised that warfare and army spending is continually damaging to the economic climate? What if all wartime spending is paid for via the deceitful and evil system of inflating and borrowing? .......What if the American men and women aroused from sleep and understood that the legitimate 'factors' for going to warfare are regularly headquartered on LIES and promoted by means of warfare propaganda so as to serve designated pursuits? .......What if Obama has no purpose of leaving Iraq? What if a army draft is being deliberate for, for the wars in order to unfold if our international coverage isn't transformed? What if the American men and women discovered the reality, that our international coverage has not anything to do with country wide protection, and that it under no circumstances alterations from one management to the following? What if warfare and coaching for warfare is a racket, serving the designated curiosity? What if Christianity honestly teaches PEACE, and no longer 'preventative' wars of agression? What if international relations is observed to be awesome to bombs and bribes in protective America?......" Now that is a TRUE American Patriot! As for my possess opinion, the warfare for Iraq was once already deliberate and the designated curiosity businesses have been simply fishing round for an excuse to assault. It will have to under no circumstances have occurred, and has been a sad and horrible waste of existence.
