Yes, defenitely. I slacked off in High School, skipping school, skipping classes, and now I've found that when I apply for jobs, they want to see my high school transcripts. They were horrible. It showed every bad grade, skipped classes, and absents. I graduated in 98, that type of thing will follow you forever. You don't want that. I'm a good worker, and what I did in 98 shouldn't effect me now but it does. Don't hurt your future.

The problem you are describing is that older people will tell you "yes" and younger might not think so. Look at it this way...what answer would you give to an 8 year old in the 3d grade who asked the same question? Co you genuinely feel the information you learned AFTER the 3d grade has been helpful to you today? If you answer "yes", consider that your answer might not be understood or appreciated by another 8 year old. Try using this perspective when looking at your own question. If you finished high school with great grades, went on to college and got great grades, even grad school, your financial potential is infinitely better, as are your other options. It really is true that more education means the ability to make more money.

I don't know that many people take their studies seriously. But, just consider where you'd like to end up in life first. Myself, along with alot of other people I know who didn't take their studies seriously in high school ended up with a non serious - low paying career or with a person with a low paying career. You're just going to make your adulthood 10 times harder if you don't get disciplined in your life now. Your teenage years are a preparation ground for the future and alot of what you do now will impact you for the rest of your life - either for the positive or negative.

Definately. It comes in handy if you plan to go to uni. Even if the subjects you are studying seem irrelevant for what you want to study. I didn't know before i started a nursing course that i'd be going back to Junior Maths and Science. PS: in australia the Universities have an option for citizens and residents where it's study now pay later; the fees come out of your tax return and you can make voluntary payments. You don't have to pay for the whole course either.

yes you should!!! you have to be serious in high school if you want to go to college or get a job anywhere. and high school is the last few years of almost free education. take advantage of it while you can. i have 2 years left and i'm taking as many concurrent enrollment and AP classes that i can!

Hey, we are the same! I think you should be serious in your studies so that you'll be prepared for college. It's really important. Forget about the things you enjoy for now and concentrate in your studies and you'll be successful.

Yes. OMG! I just graduated, I wish I would've been more serious. I would've gotten more money for school, been able to been accepted into more school. gotten more honors at graduation, etc.
You will regret not taking it seriously, you need to step up and keep your GPA good.
