A cat is always coming into our backyard and is trying to get into my rabbits hutch so the cat can eat it!
We were going to take it to the council but everytime we go outside when it is in our backyard it will run away. This has been happening for a while now!
What should I do!?
Also my rabbit thinks that the cat is her friend so she always goes over near the cat.
Is there a disiese that a cat can carry and give a rabbit?
And what do you think I should do to try and get rid of the cat!?

Make sure the hutch is secure so the cat can't get in. That's all you need to do. If the cat can't get in, it won't hurt the rabbit.
I have birds and cats. Sure the cats would eat the birds if they could, but they can't. No problem. They can eat the wild mice, if they want to hunt.
If the cat can't bite the rabbit or drink its water, I wouldn't worry about disease either. Really, I wouldn't anyway.

i had cats comming into my yard too but not to eat a pet but to use the little kitty's room. What i did was i bought a trap and i put a little tuna in the trap. The cat will smell the tuna in the trap and step in. When it steps in it, it will step on a little panel that will shut the trap. Then when you have the cat you call a shelter or animal control. It will mosst likely not work on the 1st try but eventualy you'll get a cat.

Don't worry this won't hurt the cat, but I would surround the rabbits cage with some of those sticky rat traps, when he goes up to get the rabbit he will step in one and attempt to pull it off with his face. Then his face gets stuck, and so on. He will get the clue or you can at least catch him and call animal control.

Go to a sporting goods store & pick up some bobcat scent or mountain lion scent... (hunters use it) put it around the yard & no cats will come near. either that or scatter mothballs around.

Call Animal Services. Or else take your rabbit inside so that nothing bad happens.

Try orange peels or mothballs to keep the cat out?
