I've got some questions about the third "Pirates of the Caribbean" film.? This may contain spoilers.

Question

First of all, this may contain spoilers. If you have not seen the film, do not read this. I saw the film last week and I'm still kinda scratching my head over the whole thing.


Okay, my questions are:

1.) Why was Elizabeth with Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) in his lair before he was killed?

2.) Who was allied with whom? I know Davy Jones was allied with the British but where were everyone else's loyalties?

3.) What did this goddess Calypso have to do with anybody other than being a former flame of Davy Jones?

4.) How come Will and Elizabeth were only allowed to see each other 10 years after the day they got married? Why did Will "come back to life" after getting stabbed?

Answer 1

1)Sao Feng thought Elizabeth was the sea goddess Calypso and thought that if he had her he would be able to control the sea. He also took her in a deal with Barbossa so that he made sure that Sao came to Shipwreck Cove. He then died and made Elizabeth Pirate Lord of Singapore and eventually Pirate King.

2)The other alliances were all the Pirate Lords and their crews together. Will Turner had helped the British at one stage in time but came back with the Pirates. Jack was looking out for himself , Will was trying to get Bootstrap Bill off the Flying Dutchman, Elizabeth was trying to win the war for the pirates, Norrington was with the British and then changed over to the pirates before he died


3)She had importance because she was the God of the sea and she was the only one who could really help them defeat Davy Jones

4)The curse put on Davy Jones was he was only allowed on Land once every 10 years and since he died and Will took over Captaincy of the Flying Dutchman he also took on that curse. Will came back to life because whoever stabbed the heart of Davy Jones also had to take their heart and put it in the Dead Man's Chest therefore it was the only way to make sure he didnt die.

Answer 2

If I recall correctly, on question 1, Sao Feng took Elizabeth as a wife or concubine as part of a deal that would further Elizabeth's aims.
Question 2: Only Elizabeth and Will seemed truly allied for any length. Everyone else forged and broke alliances faster than Survivor casts.
Question 3: The pirates originally captured Calypso, goddess of the sea, so they could have some measure of control over the sea itself.
Question 4: Will takes over as captain of the Flying Dutchman and like his predecessor, Davey Jones, is only allowed to walk on land once every ten years. It is his heart that becomes the heart of the Flying Dutchman.

Answer 3

1) Sao Feng requested a woman companion from Jack's lot in trade for Sao Feng's help in defeating the British.

2) Davy Jones with the British was forced. Also, Will & Brittish, Chinese & British, Chinese & Elizabeth, Pirate Lords, Jack with everyone, Jack against everyone, Calypso against everyone, Calypso with Davy Jones...everybody had their share.

3) It was also a backplot to the Pirate Lords, she also caused the wirlpool. Other than that, she was just kinda there.

4) When Will stabbed the heart, he took Davy Jones' place as the hearder of souls. For ten years he must lead souls to their afterlife, to beable to come back to the living realm.

Answer 4

#1 Elizabeth was with sao feng because of the deal that Barbosa made with him on the deck of the pearl.
#2 Jack was looking out for himself like normal, Will was trying to get his father off the dutchman, Elizabeth was trying to win the war for the pirates, and also get jack from the locker, Norrington was with the british and then changed over to the pirates
#3 Calypso could've possibly ended the war before it even really began
#4 When will got stabbed, he died,but jack took his hand and stabbed davy jones' heart, which made will become the new captain of the dutchman, part of being the captain of the dutchman is you have to ferry souls to the land of the dead, and you can only go on land every ten years

Answer 5

1) i kinda forget she was captured by his gang of baddies maybe or traded to him. I think captured after the original crew was looking for the map.
2) All of the other pirates were allied against Davy Jones and the Brits.
3)Calypso apparently caused some pretty bad damage before hand and all the other pirates figured out a way to trap her in their little trinkets. And I think she also helped out Cpt Jack a few times in the past.
4) The reason why will "came back to life" was because they cut out his heart and put it in that box. He essentially replace Davy Jones who was supposed to ferry souls to the afterlife. But he gets to come back once every ten years. It is like a contract perk.
