Do you have a porch or overhang around your door, or is it in a corner of an "L" shape? It may just be a cooler, shadier, moister spot for them compared to the rest of your yard.

Or at night time, if you leave an inside door open and there's a screened outside door, bugs might be attracted to any light they see inside the house and they may be an easy meal for the frogs.

When I was younger, we had a bug zapper on the back porch and a toad would come every night and sit on the porch under the zapper and ate the bugs as they fell. Guess he liked fried food.

Frogs go where there is food. So I am guessing that you have something on/near your door step which attracts bugs. Thus the bugs attract the frogs. Frogs will not hurt you. JUST NEVER pick them up because oils from your skin can clog the frogs pores and frogs breath through their skin. You could kill them. Just let the frogs stay and keep your door step bug free.

I'm sure the Irish would have something interesting to say about that. Woops. Was that politically incorrect? Well in any case it sounds like good luck to me. Frogs and toads are like the barometer of the environment. They die at the drop of a pesticidal hat. Clearly your doorstep is a very clean and green environment. It just means that you have shade and water and no chemicals there. Good job! Be proud that you have frogs.

They hang out to eat the bugs around your door step.

Frogs are actually a good thing. Having them indicates you have good soil and plants.

If you have flowers or a garden in your yard, they may be attracted to the bugs that eat those plants, which is definitely a good thing.
