What player, owner, GM, team, or organization from top to bottom do you believe is the biggest joke in professional sports right now? I will give my opinion when I choose the best answer (I put this in the baseball section because my answer has to do with baseball)

Wow, no one agrees with me...I think it is the Pittsburgh Pirates organization from top to bottom...the owners show no interest in putting anything worth watching on the field...it was rumored that the owners gave permission to draft Vitters if he was available (which they knew he wouldn't be, just trying to make it look like they cared about drafting the best available) Vitters was taken by the Cubs third, so what do the Pirates do, thats right another first round pitcher, not to mention the 5th ranked pitcher in the draft as the 4th overall pick.
After a good rookie season by Ronnie Paulino they decide that it is time to completely abandon Neil Walker as the catcher of the future and stick him on third base. Now that we are probably seeing the real Paulino this year and the Pirates failed to draft Matt Weiters they have no catchers coming through the system.
In Pittsburgh every time the name Mclatchy, Nutting, or Littlefield are mentioned all you do is laugh and mutter f* that guy

I could go on for a while with all the things wrong with that organization but that would take a while.

The Media. Especially ALEastSPN. Why must they talk about the under .500 Yankees all the time. There are far greater baseball stories in Milwaukee and Anaheim then the AL East. Clemens 6 inning win over Pittsburgh is the top story even on Yahoo?!?!? What A joke. Haren's dominating start to the season and 7th win in a row gets trumped by Roger. Give me a break!! Yes I'm an A's fan but C'Mon. The Marlins are 1 game under .500 where is their press.

I know I know population and regional interest rule, but do other fans outside Boston and New York actually watch ESPN? Must not that is why they focus on the aLEAST.

The Royals and owner David Glass have the be the biggest joke in the league right now. At least Tampa Bay is TRYING. The Florida Marlins, who are annually gutted, manage to play competitive baseball despite having the lowest payroll in the NL. Royals management is just disgusting. I'd boycot if I were a Royals fan. Any team that starts Reggie Sanders, Emil Brown, and Angel Berroa (they used to start him anyway) shouldn't be allowed in the majors.

I apologize to any KC fans, but you guys know how bad it is right now.

George Bush. When he was the GM for the Texas Rangers he traded away some small time hitter named Sammy Sosa. Don't matter if Bush isn't still in baseball, one of the dumbest moves in sports.

I'd say the NHL -- Gary Bettman and 90% of the team owners -- but you're clearly looking for an answer that involves baseball...

i honestly think that the yankees, as of right now, are the biggest laughingstock in all of sports.

now, when taking into account the type of salaries they dish out, lets see here: roger clemens, for 1 full year of service, recieves $28,000,022. that, right there, is more than tampa bay's entire team roster. after that, take a look at the standings. as of right now, the yankees are 29-31. the devil rays? 27-33. the yankees are a complete joke right now.

Well, I believe that the Royals are a joke, but not THE joke.

The Cincinatti Bengals have become THE joke. Sure, they're a good enough team, but the fact that their players keep getting arrested and in trouble with the law, they have become not only a joke but a punch line.
