the italians copy our flag we dont have history with italy we are also not related

they both were based on the french one (vertical tricolore), wich was based on the one from the netherlands (horizontal tricolore)?

No, not to my knowledge. The mexicans never fought in italy, nor did they have significant economic intrests there. (the mexican flag is older than the italian one).
