I saw the dvd and pretty much believe in the ideas. Its similar to What the Bleep Do We Know, but WTB has a more scientific approach where The Secret is mostly narrated by authors and inspirational speakers. If so many great men in history have known about this secret, what are some documented references or examples to back up "The Secret"s claim?

There are none. It's total crap, just like the 2nd half of WTB.

WTB's review of science was fairly accurate, but it's applications were way off base. One of the presenters believes she can channel a 30,000 year old warrior named Ramtha, btw. Just thought you should know.

"David Albert, the professor from the Columbia University physics department who was featured in the film, is quoted in Salon.com saying:

I was edited in such a way as to completely suppress my actual views about the matters the movie discusses. I am, indeed, profoundly unsympathetic to attempts at linking quantum mechanics with consciousness. Moreover, I explained all that, at great length, on camera, to the producers of the film ... Had I known that I would have been so radically misrepresented in the movie, I would certainly not have agreed to be filmed."

"Upon further investigation I find the films’ producers, writers, directors, and a number of the featured “experts” are members of the Ramtha School of Enlightenment. The film is a propaganda piece for a cult."

It would take you at the most 68 seconds to apply it yourself.
Never depend on someone else to steer you on your path.
Learning information is a never ending work as there is incredible discoveries being made in this field every day.
It is fun and that is a good reason to keep up with them.
I started in 1998 and I am grateful for the finger that pointed the way but I am still working on this every day, happy, excited, passionate, healthy, abundant, etc. I plan to be on the Rome to Barcelona to Rome cruise next year. Want to go? You might move on to The Secret Behind The Secret at this point. If you haven't done the WTB-Down the Rabbit Hole, it is also the natural progression. Don't join groups who offer to teach you stuff for a price, not with a twenty foot pole. Been there, done that.

I don't think that film was very convincing. They didn't show very conclusively that the historical figures actually knew the secret. I think bad things can still happen to positive thinkers and no mystical force is going to bring you what you want if you just think about it a lot. You may get it bc that's what you are working towards and bc that's what you obsess about. There were a few downright lies in it from where I stand.
I think the secret is banking off of people's desire for money, shortcuts, and meaning/spirituality.

The good thing about the secret is that people will sit and think about what they want in life and set some goals.

They basically ripped all that stuff off from Jungian philosphy and psychology. Forget Freud, study Jung.

Byrne takes a bit of liberties in making such claims. Most of the quotes, if not all are out of context.

Although I believe in projecting, goal fulfillment and such, the secret is a bit simple when it comes to how it is presented. It also is disheartening in that it seems to focus on wealth generating and not the enhancing of the soul.

But that's my take.

Essentially, you are the creator of your own reality, and when you realize that ,you can fulfil all your wishes BUT they have to be deeply felt desires and not transient, materialistic things.,that is the premise.
