I love SciFi and I know the man that coined that term. Forrest J. Ackerman. Google him and impress your husband. He is a dear sweet man, a family friend. I want that dracula ring 4a!

If your husband likes Sci-Fi movies for the sheer sake of them being "sci-fi," then he is what us film "affectionados" refer to as a film "bonehead..."
I enjoy a "great" sci-fi movie...but it has to be a good movie in its' own right...
In other words...if the plot, dialogue, and acting in the movie is really good, the "sci-fi" background setting should not matter...
A perfect example is the Sci-Fi channel's "sci-fi" features...
They suck across the board, whether or not they deal with horror or sci-fi topics...
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you (and I'm sure he's a cool guy in other ways) but it sounds like your husband is a "bonehead" when it comes to movies...
Let him have his "bonehead" hobby...I'm sure you've got few "bonehead" tastes in stuff, too...

We all do...(best Sci-Fi movies are...Dark City, Solaris, The Matrix Series, The 13th Floor, 2001 duo, The Cell (despite J-Lo's questionable acting skills), original Alien, original Terminator, John Carpenter's remake of The Thing, Waterworld, Independence Day, original Planet of the Apes (the first one), A Clockwork Orange, The Andromeda Strain, and The Greatest Story Ever Told...(just had to slip that one in...)

somewhat,....maybe... with me it depends if its a newbie, meanin it was made from 2000 and forward and also if it was a major movie that perhaps came out on theatres.
I dont like them low budget movies. Rarely i find a lowbudget movie to be anything but good. Movies only made for Tv,

I was watching Tv guide and i saw they were giving them out right now. One was "Ice spider" and right after that "Arachnophobia"...started watching both, but way to boring.

I don't like the cheesy ones on the sci fi channel. Only the good ones and the classics.

hehehe..There are some really bad "B" sci-fi movies out there but there are some good ones as well...I like the movie "The Abyss" with Ed Harris. Just hang in there you might find one on that you like too.
