Do yo have anything that's stainless steel? Like a spoon or even your kitchen sink? Slather your hands in soap then rub them all over the stainless steel. It gets the onion smell off too.
Most high qulaity cooking shops sell stainless steel disks that look like an oval-shaped bar of soap, they are designed for this very purpose. I own one and use it with soap every time I mince garlic or onions. Go get one, but tonight just rub your hands on a big spoon/silverware or your sink. It works like a charm.
