violation of the law is usually an appropriate basis to make a legal resident alien deportable, but there is some wiggle room depending on the nature of the crime. unfortunalty, you have identified exactly yhe type of violation for which the INS has always sought to deport. drug violations are probably the easiest way to deport a resident alien and unless the home country refuses to accept the person back, you can expect deportation in a few weeks, if not a few days.
If you are in an area with a law school, you should contact the law school and see if they have a legal clinic that specializes in immigration, asylum, or criminal defense work. they may be able to help file an appeal of a deportation order, but in this day and age, the US is tired of keeping resident aliens who are also criminals.

Drug pushers should be prosecuted first, then put in jail and deport them. These "Undesirable Aliens" are menace to your society and must be dealt with to the full force of your law. Look at Singapore, they hang em high and deport the corpse. Harsh law but very effective.

Yes indeed. A felony, especially drug related, is usually all that's required to revoke a Green Card and get the offender deported. It happens every day. It doesn't matter if he/she has a spouse and kids or not.

Yes. Even if they are "legal" a serious felony especially a drug charge can result in the revocation of their green card.
