Hey, if you get a bargain for something you know you'll need, why not? Just remember that others will probably gift a lot of items... and babies tend to get too much non-consumable stuff that you will never even use. I would make a list of what you will need for the baby. That way you will be really prepared for registering for your baby shower, and knowing what is lacking.

it's never to soon i started as soon as i found out and with all my stock piling and all the gifts we breezed though the supply if you find good deals dont pass them up.Not only is it fun it's now your right as a mama to shop for baby stuff(something i never knew could be so cool)besides i figured that once the baby was born funds would be tight for a while so i needed to buy things while i was still working fulltime and we had a normal income. You husband probably doesnt relize that the pack you bought will last mere days!Have a good pergnancy and just know that no matter how much planning and buying you do once the bay gets here you will relize you need a whole bunch of other stuff you didnt even think you needed and some of the stuff you thought you had to have will go unused!
p.s.Try going to babycenter.com and other sites like that sign up and the coupons for diapers, wipes, formula, shampoo's,free samples, ect. will flow!

It isn't too soon at all, especially for items on sale. If you get prepared now, it will put your mind at ease. Plus, you can never have too many diapers, wipes, lotions and bath items. Those are good thing to buy until you know the sex.White onsies and socks, anything unisex on sale, get it! Plus it always made me even more excited to buy baby stuff. It makes it alot more real , besides it goes by so fast ! Congratulations !
*****Mel S. What professionals reccomend waiting until the 2nd trimester to buy baby items ? I am an RN who has worked in OB and L&D for many yrs. God, if we all walked around in the first trimester like we were going to miscarry, it would be terrible. Let the girl enjoy her 1st pregnancy and trimester. What a downer to see so many people say," well, wait until your miscarriage risk goes down".

It is never to soon to stock up on diapers and other things that are hugely expensive after giving birth.
Do not however overstock on just one size of diapers or clothing, because they outgrow them quickly.
The only downfall is that if for some unforseen reason you do not go to full term. The diapers and clothing are a painful memory around the house. Usually the standard is waiting until you are over 3 months pregnant.

I would wait on buying diapers especially. My daughter was in newborn size diapers for 6 weeks or more. While, my sister's babies all wore newborn size diapers for only a few days.

I didn't start buying stuiff until about 4-5 months along. And diapers are a great thing to stock up on when you can. I gave up on pampers after i ran out of the ones form teh hospital and the baby shower. I love the Parent's choice ones from Walmart for my daughter....just as absorbant and much less money.
Congrats.

It never hurts to stock up early on diaper, especially if they are on sale. I think the average number of diapers a baby will use in one year is around 3,000.

I was cutting coupons and storing up whenever I saw them on sale! I had them stacked so high! :-) Just learn a lesson from me and stock up - just don't buy too many size newborn diapers because they grow out of them quick!
