I can't quite figure it out either, I suspect that there are some provisions in there somewhere that have very little to do with immigration. Really, if he wanted to do something about immigration he could have easily done so when the republicans controlled the house & senate.

The Immigration Bill failed because the politicians against it deem that it will be disastrous to their future particularly the election in 2008.

Wow, let me make this clear Dub-ya is first and foremost a globalist! His plans have always been to merge us into the North American union! Just about everything he has done is to support this. He feels he is part of the ruling elite and wants his piece of the pie in the world government. Of course if he can milk off a few billions in war profiteering for his family and friends that is a big plus.

Bush has ALWAYS been soft on the immigration issue. This is one thing I disagree vehemently with him on. He supported it because many of the ideas in it were his. I hate when he works with Kennedy on anything.

I don't think we'll ever know what's behind anyone's thinking or rationalization for their viewpoint, particularly President Bush. His sister-in-law is Mexican and nepotism seems to play a big part in his decision making process. Just an observation.

Bush has always been about Bush, and cheap labor for his friends and family.

no one knows but him. my theory is, he thinks it's good legislation and there is no other answer. I think that's crap. I think what ever he doe's has little effect on the presidential election, at least right now.
