You have to pay a monthly to get in the verizon network. You could buy a regular wifi card first and see if u can get on a network around your house. I bought a $50 card and now I have free internet cause I just pick up on someone elses network. Some consider it stealing but hey I can't help it's there.

It would be monthly fee.

BUT, it may save some money if you do this. If you hook the phone up to your laptop (depending on the phone), and get internet on phone, then through your phone, you can have internet on your laptop.
