Music is ever evolving, it continues to grow and inspire. It's a universal language. It has songs that can give perspective to time and history.

Think of the Scorpions tune "Wind of Change" which was written about the about the changes in Russia and eastern Europe during the fall of communism in the late 80s from a German's perspective.

Think about U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" written about Martin Luther King Jr.

Both songs where huge hits, and both demonstrate that music can capture the some of the essence of history and time.

Music also captures human thought and emotion and if done well puts it into an art-form. Music is great because of the creativity that it embodies, and the unity of musicians working together to make it sound right.

There's more that I'm sure I could think about, but basically music is great in my opinion, because of the talents of it's musicians that make music worthwhile to listen to, and for those who wish to be musically inclined to pick up an instrument, and or try to sing.

Basically I think music is all most a necessity in life because it's a creative outlet for people to identify with, and for many to express themselves on a different level than just talking.

Music isn't great. People are great. A nurse that holds the hand of a dying cancer patient is great. A policeman that answers a domestic violence call, putting his own life at risk, is great. A teacher that spends 35 years covering the same material to 2nd graders, but still manages to keep it interesting to them, is great.

We put our emotions into music. And we attempt to identify with the artists. However, these people are nothing special. Like everyone else, they have an insight into the world. And they have a stage to state their views. Because of this we give them tons of money, and look up to them. Our priorities are badly misplaced.

Because music says what we want to say when we're to scared to say it. Just the very sound of the notes describes our feelings and views. The voices of the singers speak up for us when we can't be heard. Music has helped people through the ages... in history classes I've learned how slaves in America would sing songs to help pass the time. It's just a part of everyone, no matter what kind of music it is.

Music is great for many reasons, but I think the main impact it has on us is when we're listening to something we've heard and enjoyed a thousand times or so, it takes us back to the place where we heard it the very 1st time and to all of those memories.

It speaks for us
it holds memories
it creates memories
it makes us thankful for what we have
it makes us thankful for what we don't have
it gives us a "beat" to dance to, which feels good
it gives us hope
it gives us sympathy
it doesn't try to cheer us up when we want to wallow in self pity
it does cheer us up when we don't even know we need it
it keeps us company in the car, at home, at work
it provides an emotional outlet for any kind of emotion (joy, anger, sadness, etc...)
But the single most important thing that makes music so great is that it exists.

music is poetry alive. and after it dies, it turns into poetry, which has less feeling. not all music is great. if there is an artist is singing, it has to be for a reason. not because you want money, or you want to sing about your xbf. you have to, well, have an empty space, only filled by music. music keeps our hopes up in times of paral. It helped the slaves pass codes, and it keeps us up during times of war. music is the definition of everything. I'm willing to say the only reason we were created was to hear music, and to listen to music.

This will sound like scientific freaky stuff but there it goes:
There's this "superstring" or something-that-sounds-like-it theory that says that stuff is made out of energy frequences or waves, like music's. Google it later 'cuz I can't explain it really well :).
So I think that's why: Music is literally everything...wow, that's deep... lol.
Oh yeah and also because it's the only lenguage everybody understands or knows.
Cool huh?

Probably just some Weed. Most of the others may have influenced a few songs but weed was a way to relax and when when relaxed the music can flow.

Music is amazing and it is unexplainable. It can be the key to someones soul or a form of expression for people. Its endless and beautiful.

Because it's an emotional outlet that works extremely well for most people...

It's art that puts the intangible feelings inside everyone into words.
