Paris Hilton is an attention-seeking celebutante who flouts any and all moral decency standards to keep her name in the news, and the more frequent and outrageous the news coverage the better.
Instead of using her heiress to the Hilton fortune standing and funds for the good of a worthy cause, she promotes a selfish lifestyle with her own glamour as centerpiece. She is a "bad" influence.
Paris deserves jail because she broke the drunken driving laws. Having lots of money, paparazzi and creating a media circus doesn't put her above the law or paying the consequences of breaking it.

well, conisdering this isnt the 1st time but the 3rd time she screwed up (2 of which were under probation) she is kinda bad. she should be in a frikkin rubber room or at least under suicde watch--the police screwed up by lettin her finish her time in her home. i mean its a 40 million dollar house, wow--what a jail sentace i mean honestly "I sentance you to 40 days in your 40 million dollar house, you cannot go any farther than your mailbox" and she is only famous because her daddy is rich

She was arrested for drunk driving and had her license suspended. She then was caught driving twice with a suspended license. She also did not enroll in DUI classes as was ordered by the job. She also did not bother to show up to court.

listen she deserved what she got, she got in trouble for dui and never did what the judge told her. she bitched and complained untill the sheriffs let her out, she did 3 days out of 45. everyone deserves to be treated the same wheather u rich or ur poor. she flashed her money around and it worked and im glad the judge sent her back

She went to jail for violating her probation.
She was driving drunk on a suspended license (twice!)

i don't think its right for that poor girl to be in prison because she didn't do anything that terrible...i mean look at Lindsay lohan...that chick should be in jail and not Paris Hilton!
