It is the brush. It doesn't my how new the mascara is, if the brush it crappy then the eyelashes will stick together. Just buy some new mascara
If you don't want to buy new mascara, take a damp (clean) toothbrush to run through your eyelashes.

i use to have the same problem and i would get so mad that i would cry about it. but eventually i was taught the correct way and now im teaching you .....

you can buy new mascara but that may not be the problem...
first, make sure there arent any clumps on the brush to begin with and if there is then just wipe them off.
just stroke the lashes very carefully...and if you're brave, stroke them in a zig zag formation (it makes your lashes look longer and have more volume without clump)
then if you apply the mascara and there are a few clumps that you cannt fix then take an eyelash brush, which can be found at any drugstore, and stroke your lashes using the brush ... it takes the clump completley out! :D

if all of that doesnt help then most likely it's the mascara.
i recommend buying some from estee lauder (which isn't expensive and is at the mall) but if you dont like going to the mall and you like going to drugstores then i recommend maybelline (the mascara in the green and pink tubes).
i use both mascaras and they work perfectly.. i absolutley LOVE them ... and i rarely have problems with clumps ... but hey, thats what the eyelash brush is for :D :D

hope i helped :D

If you need mascara that doesn't make your eye;ashes stick together then every time when you take out the brush then just dab a little on the bottle of the mascara and then wipe it from the tip. So you want have a lot of mascara on the brush. If you try those tips then you wont have sticky eyelashes

Good luck :)

Start by using a curler/brush for your eyelashes. The brush basically looks like a tiny comb. Curl and brush your lashes first to get out "tangles" or make your lashes straight. Now before you put on the mascara wipe off the brush. You don't have to take all the mascara off it, so quick wipe with a tissue will do. This takes off the excess, but leaves just enough to do the job. It really helps to prevent clumps, and I do it every time I put on mascara!!!

Start at the bottom of the lashes and pull up and out. put one layer on, then after it dries, add another layer. If they still stick together, try a different type of mascara or use a dry clean mascara brush to comb through them after each coat.

1] get mascara and a clean tissue.
2] gently wipe excess mascara [ outside bristles ] with the tissue.
3] apply mascara [ don't 'pump' the brush in and out of the tube - you introduce a lot of air and dry up the mascara inside - you can 'twirl' the wand to get a bit more out ].
a] apply from outer corner of eye, to middle, to inner
b] second coat [ don't wait ] on outer and middle of lid
c] third - outer - gives eyes a 'lift' at outer corner
[ if you wait between coats, the mascara gets too sticky to 'layer'. ]
4] apply to bottom lashes if desired, or do thin eyeliner.

don't worry it happens to many people. what u need to do is curl your eyelashes BEFORE you put on the mascara, it will clump a lot if u curl them after. also don't put too much mascara on, just enough to make them pop. a little goes a long way

each mascara has a slightly different consistencies, they all work differently on different people--if you don't like how the one you're using makes you look, you may want to get a different brand. if you really want to stick with it, though, see if you can get your hands on an eyebrow comb (? i think that's what they're called--they've got a mini comb on one tip and a mini brush on the other side and they're meant for your eyebrows) and comb through your lashes BEFORE they dry. you can find them at the same place you'd find other makeup brushes.. or you could just use a really finetoothed comb, if you're very very careful :)

Try using a lash brush to seperate. Trying a new mascara might also work. I have been trying to accomplish this too. We also have to remember our lashes will never look like what they show in the pics - they are fake!
