Congress could pass a bill that would allow families who have lost loved ones while serving in the military operations in Iraq to sue Bush and his cohorts for wrongful death. As a veteran who has seen men die in a pointless and irrational deployment to Iraq I can see nothing more fitting than holding those responsible for sending them there in the first place personally and economically accountable for the loss of so many young lives.

Move our men to Afghanistan if you must, our real enemy is there.

Scarlett, we made those when we move into that country

Chriss, you are an idiot, don’t question a veteran on his or her loyalty towards the military

Blue, learn facts please Kosavo was a UN operation and the Cole was on normal operations refueling at an open port (one we still use to this day). Neither of those were of direct orders from Clinton. Now if you said Somalia I would have to agree with you

No. Any veteran knows that chances are are lives only mean something to the people beside us to politcians we are just cannon fodder to be used to further their own cause. Regardless of party. If you are going to sue Bush might as well sue entire Congress as well.

Yeah, that would be super (sarcasm). While we're at it, let's give the president strict liability for all of the difficult decisions he must make in office. Then, we will absolutely guarantee that nobody will run, or if they do, they will be so paranoid that our country will be paralyzed. As Americans, we had the power to fire the president (thus making him personally and economically accountable) and we did not. While we're at it, let's sue Clinton for ignoring the intelligence that an event like 9-11 was a real possibility. People who blindly think litigation is a substitute for democracy just don't get it. I think the United States is litigious enough without having to create new legislation creating new avenues for suing.

And by the way, do you have any idea what that would do to our overburdened courts and prison system if people could sue our executive branch for a policy decision they disagree with? Are you going to sue for having to pay too much in taxes?

And lastly, last time I checked there was no draft. Those who died in Iraq had the honor and courage to sign up and serve (including you, sir, so while I disagree with this post, I respect and thank you for what you gave for me)....and understood the risk that they would have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

While I do think vets and their families should get better benefits, suing the president is a ridiculous suggestion.

Ahh, yes, sue the president for saving the world from Saddam Hussein, a man with a 7 figure death count. Its hard, but you liberal types consistently amaze me. You live in a world of utter fantasy, I mean lollipop lanes, and chocolate mountains with lemonade rain. Lay off the dope, let the adults handle the serious stuff. Isn't Gilmore Girls on?

Would it be a shot below the belt to tell you that from one combat vet to another, I suspect that the only "Combat" you saw was on a training video in the rear with the phuqing gear? Always hated admin pogues. If you were ever REALLY in the military, I'd say you were a disgrace to the uniform. We call guys like you, "Swiss Cheese." Your story's so full of holes it often reminds us of...
You cannot sue a political figure for having perfomed their job.

So can the families of our soldiers who died in Kosovo sue Clinton and his cohorts for the same thing?
How about the ones who died on the USS Cole? Can they sue Clinton?
