Just a little bit ago I was watching, for about 10 minutes, two "things" going in opposite directions flashing red, green, and yellow. What could that be?

Oh, the place is CRAWLING with little green men.

Was it about 10 minutes ago, now? And where would that be? Traffic light aliens!! There's so many of them up there that they had to resort to traffic signals to keep from running into each other. Alert Captain Kirk!

Aeroplanes have those coloured lights.

Moving lights in the night sky are usually aeroplanes, satellites, meteors, or very rarely, the mysterious phenomenon of ball-lightning.

Occam's Razor is usually sufficient to deny a cause of alien activity.

Besides, UFO doesn't mean alien. To be a UFO, all you need do is fail to identify it.

Airplanes. They have red lights on their left wings, green lights on the right wings, and most have a yellow light on either their tails or bellies. The lights can either be on constantly or flash (strobes). I know - I'm a pilot.

Airplane. And by the way could you tell the shape of them because that would give some good clues. It also could have been satellites, top secret Area 51 ships, etc.

As long as you don't know what it is, it's the 'unidentified' part of an 'unidentified flying object' (UFO). That doesn't mean it's a spaceship full of little green men. It just means you haven't been able to identify it.

We would need to know your location and the direction and estimated angle of motion of the "things" to answer better.
But just by the colours you mention, it sounds like either a high-flying plane (they have different coloured lights) or a satellite reflecting the sun from orbit (the colours could be from different reflective surfaces on the satellite).

airplane. I doubt an alien would make their spaceship red green and yellow(but an airplane would).
