Ok, first of all what "shot" are you talking about?

If you aren't having sex, then you don't need any birth control if that is what this shot is.

Taking a "break" from your periods is not a great idea, you are messing with Mother Nature. When you do that, you eventually pay a price.

I strongly suggest you do some homework on what you are talking about and understand the pros and cons before you go to the doctor.

I have an understanding of Hitler's motivations too, doesn't make him even remotely right for what he did. Abortion is a choice. In case you do not love it, don't get one. It is pretty easy. Nobody said that abortion was once the quality and only option, and to say so can be lying. Some individuals effectively make that choice. So, until you, and the leisure of the pro-lifestyles crowd, want to soak up each little one that may or else had been the outcome of an abortion (primarily late-time period abortions), then go proper forward and outlaw it. For those who aren't going to take accountability for anything you declare should have existence, then don't. It is handy to ***** in regards to the ravenous youngsters in Africa if in case you have a full belly. It can be easy to ***** about all of the aborted babies when you are nonetheless dwelling. Was the shooter a assassin? Undoubtedly. Used to be a reliable reason? Most likely now not. Health care professional Tiller certainly not harmed the person that shot him. That is homicide. Used to be the lady justified in waht she did? Which lady? Was the surgeon a assassin? No, he used to be a medical professional performing a service few medical professionals will. What do I believe? I think professional-lifestyles extremists are as dangerous as them tourists* that Bush continues speaking about. Pro-lifers themselves are a bit naive, however i can nonetheless realise their position. Nonetheless, regardless of as so much as they hate abortions, no one is forcing them to get one, and an abortion would not infringe on any one's rights, considering the fact that the fetus is yet to be born. That birth, the dividing line, is as clear as day. That is when humans are given their rights, after they enter this world from the womb. ADDENUM: this is exactly why "militant atheists" exist, to hinder folks from passing laws given that "God says so." that's this kind of hideous violation our rights. I'm now not allowed to outlaw religion, and you're not allowed to cross laws established on yours.

If you tell your doctor you want it because you want a break from your periods and to help your acne, he/she won't give it to you. Aside from that, some offices don't keep it, while others do. I've worked in several different primary care offices that don't have it in stock. It's expensive and it expires if it sits around for too long. And since so many women go their GYN for stuff like that, it rarely gets used at a PCP office. So that is why some don't even order it. It won't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't tell the doctor that's why you want it because that would guarantee you won't get it.

You need a pap first...and also a pregnancy test. I have heard that the shot can make you gain weight. They also have tablet forms now that will have a less frequent period.

Your regular physician can prescribe the shot for you. However, you should still be having annual "well woman" exams whether you are sexually active or not.
