well, i guess it is your throat, but your brain feels like its freezing (it REALLY hurts) but after wards everyone thinks it's funny. You get brain freeze when you drink or eat a lot of something really cold (ice cream, slushee, snow cone, etc.)

It's your soft pallet getting to cold. It sends a message to your brain that assumes that because your mouth is cold your brain must be cold. You can alleviate it by thrusting your tongue up against the roof of your mouth.

Because the pain is not in your throat the pain is in your brain...well that is what it seems like.

Because it makes your head hurt. But it's not your throat. It's your soft palette. It goes into shock from being so cold.

Your brain controls those muscles in your body. You try to answer but, your brain won't let it open up to speak.....

Because it sends pain signals up to your head & sinuses and you get the headache. If you press your tongue to the roof of your mouth, that helps because it warms it up and slows the pain signals.
