The car is called a smart fortwo. Also no it was not made especially for that commercial, I actually saw it long before Nintendo Wii came out.

It's a "smart car" I saw them overseas in Europe years ago. 1999-2000 time frame.

The car is mainly in the European countries. I think it was in Da Vinci Code movie .. but I could be wrong since that car was really small, too.
