I am aware that the processor is out of stock, there's not need to remind of that. The thing I'm worried about is the FSB. The processor says 2000MHz, and the mobo says it supports 1000MHz. Will there be any speed reduction at all, or is the 2000MHz just 2 x 1000MHz because the CPU is dual core? Thanks in advance.

First four answer wrongs, last one is pretty good. Let me explain this. First off the CPU speed is 2.2Ghz, just so everyone is clear. Second there is no FSB, AMD does not use the FSB it uses the HyperTransport (ignore the fact that newegg and other places label the HyperTransport as a FSB, it is a FSB replacement). The actual speed of the HyperTranpsport is 1000Mhz, but it is double pumped, meaning its effective speed is 2000Mhz. The motherboard lists the actual speed, the processor lists the effective speed, which is why they appear to be different. But in reality, the speeds match, so no compatibility problems.

yup your fine
fsb is front side bus which means the speed the data goes through the mem and so forth. not the speed at which it will be processed. the 2000mhz or 2ghz is the speed at which the cpu actually vibrates at. vibrates? yes vibrates. the small piece of quartz inside a cpu actually vibrates and this is why you get the number of gig or mhz hz is a measure of speed for a wave. kinda like a radio wave .
the highter the speed the faster the cpu the faster the cpu the more data can be handled .

confused yet? hey its techo crap but its realy simple if you studied any type of physical science at all.

so to answer your question yes the 2000 will work with the 1000 the 1000 is only the front side bus. and no there there will not be any speed reduction.

The FSB is how fast your CPU can control stuff. Since most of the things your computer does is not controlling all the things attached and is usually math stuff. a FSB of 1000Mhz and a CPU speed is 2000MHz is fine.

CPU speed is different from FSB speed anyway. Its like comparing apples and oranges.

ABSOLUTELY. The motherboard runs at HT(Hyper Transport) speed of 2000/1600. The lower number is for Semprons.

It sure will! cause the processor is socket AM2 and so is the mobo,

oh, you might need to change that mobo to take advantage of that 2000MHz
