I've been tired a lot recently. My period is about a week late, which never happens. When is too early to test for pregnancy and what are the earliest symptoms and when do they present?

P.S. NICE RESPONSES ONLY!! PLEASE

If you have already missed your period, and you are ALWAYS on time, go ahead and take a test. Symptoms vary. Some people don't even experience any symptoms and some start early on. Fatigue is definately a sign. Sore breasts, vomiting, food cravings, frequent urination. Sore breasts usually a few days after conception and sickness usually 2-6 weeks after. Just depends though.

You can buy an EPT and test yourself as early as your first missed period. Although if you are missing a period due to pregnancy than it would prob not be from the episode 10 days ago but from a month ago. You can test for pregnancy when you are late on your period but if you were only ten days pregnant the test would not be able to pick up enough of the pregnancy hormone at this point, that is why they say first missed period because that would generally put you between 4-6 weeks pregnant.

Your symptoms could be resulting from pregnancy but it could also be because you think you may be. That is very common. You could have many symptoms such as tender breasts, fatigue, morning sickness, or headaches. However, if you do not have these that does not mean you are not pregnant because some women do not get symptoms at all. Good Luck.

Usually your most fertile time is about 14 days before your period is due, so it wouldn't be "average" to get pregnant within 10 days of your period's due date, but we aren't all "average" so it's quite possible for you to be pregnant. The earliest symptoms I had were fatigue, breast tenderness, and nausea, all of which started between 7-12 days after conception. If your period is already late, you should try taking a test. If it's negative and your period is still a no-show in a week's time, try testing again (pregnancy tests can usually be accurate within 9-14 days after conception depending on your hormone levels and the sensitivity of the test...the most sensitive are First Response, which I personally do not recommend as they didn't give me a positive until I was 6 weeks pregnant, and Clearblue Digital, which I do recommend because they are so simple). Good luck!

It is possible, although sex 3 days before your expected period is an unlikely time to get pregnant.
Take a home pregnancy test or see your doc if ou want to be sure.

What else is going on in life that's stressin you out? Stress, illness, and extreme dieting can also make you miss and make you tired.

As for the at home tests, they don't work for everybody. Didn't work for me and I'm 10 weeks along.

Good luck!

If you skipped a period then you can take a test now, and it should be accurate.
